Our exhibitions change summer and winter, our new exhibition commemorating 100 years since the loss of the HMS Hampshire and the death of Earl Kitchener opened 1st April.

Our 2015 exhibition proved such a success we are staging a semi-permanent display of some of the artefacts found, including a stone clearly showing the 'Brodgar Butterfly' (shown here).

Stromness Museum is an independent museum maintained and managed by a committee of volunteers elected from the members of the Orkney Natural History Society Museum.

Running costs are met from entrance fees, friends memberships, donations and grants.

1 November - 31 March:   11am -3.30 pm (closed on Sundays)
