Out Of Hours Ferry Service (OOH!)
I am delighted to say that we had an excellent response to last month’s questionnaire, and we have submitted the review of the OOH pilot scheme for the Big Lottery Fund (BLF) in Glasgow.
This included the numbers of passengers taking advantage of the service, the finances of the project, and the feed-back you gave us about the “quality” of what is being provided, (which, thank you, was excellent, and it is clear it is very much appreciated).
Thank you, too, to Harvey, for going out of his way to keep the service running as smoothly as possible through the maintenance period required meaning the Charles Ann was out of the water for a time.
I have now put up a new improved time-table on the web-site and the Shapinsay notice boards in line with the change to the OIC ferry schedule; the “end of pilot review” has now been accepted by the BLF officers, and I have given feed-back on some of the comments we received in the returned questionnaires. Thank you to all who responded, it was very important in the eyes of the BLF
We’ve now had the official go-ahead to say that the service will continue right through until the end of September, when we have to “report back” once more. At that time, some details of the service may change again but we anticipate that the BLF will continue to support us through to the end of the Summer of 2013. At that time the Development Trust will have to decide whether to finance the OOH ferry from funds generated by Whirly, and we can stand on our own two feet.
The booking arrangements remain the same for now, calling or texting to the mobile number - 07901 575162,
or by e-mail to email@example.com
I am delighted that we have been joined by Lynsey Leslie and Robert Grainger to co-ordinate your transport requests, and am sure they will bring added benefit to the service; I hope as many folk as possible continue to enjoy it through the Summer.
