ROUSAY, 'THAT WAS COOL'by OTDA - 07:59 on 11 April 2008It was 'standing room only' on the Eynhallow on our way to the Rousay Fringe event, over 70 dancers made the journey.A warm welcome and a beautiful buffet greeted us, all stops had been pulled out by the Rousay Music Group. Soon the floor was full to capacity as the Marwick Brothers & Friends lead the dance on at a cracking pace, from the Eva Three Step to waltzes and from The Orkney Reel to the Queen Victoria. All too soon the last waltz was called.Soup was served before everyone was taken back to the ferry. Only one word sums up the Rousay Fringe Event and that came from 10 year old Meghan in the bus back to the pier 'COOL'A perfect evening was drawing to a close.........As we waited for the ferry a fiddle started to play and a couple started to dance on the pier, it was flat calm with a new moon shining, I'm sure you get the picture.Add your comment |
