Think of something for which you are grateful today.  Say thanks.

I am grateful to You, Giver and Sustainer of life, for having granted me another day of life. Your love and faith in me is truly overwhelming.

In Challenging Times:

Take a moment to relax by simply paying attention to your breath.  As you settle into a steady rhythm of breathing, notice that you may feel more centred and still inside.  Take a few moments to just be in this relaxed state—fully present.

Now imagine, if you can, what you might look like if you were to see yourself through God's eyes — through eyes that are filled with wisdom and loving-kindness, eyes that see with compassion and do not judge.  Try to see yourself as the amazing mystery and pure being that you are.

Since we have been made right with God by our faith, we have peace with God. This happened through our Lord Jesus Christ, who through our faith has brought us into that blessing of God’s grace that we now enjoy. And we are happy because of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory. We also have joy with our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience. And patience produces character, and character produces hope. And this hope will never disappoint us, because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. He gave us his love through the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to us.

Romans 5:1-5 (New Century Version)

Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed unless it is faced.

Harmony with God:

Do not have your concert first, and then tune your instrument afterwards.  Begin the day with the Word of God and prayer, and get first of all into harmony with Him.

Life is this simple:

“Life is this simple.  We are living in a world that is absolutely transparent, and God is shining through it all the time.  This is not just a fable or a nice story.  It is true.  If we abandon ourselves to God, and forget ourselves, we see it sometimes, and we see it maybe frequently. God shows Himself everywhere, in everything – in people and in things and in nature and in events.  It becomes very evident that God is everywhere and in everything and we cannot be without him.  It’s impossible.  The only thing is that we don’t see it.”

Merton, Thomas, 20th. Century Trappist Monk.

Faith changes everything.  Nothing is impossible.

In faith, we are willing to put grudges, envy, and resentments behind us.

In faith, our ability to use fresh talents and go in new directions becomes reality.

In faith, we find it possible to work joyfully as the member of a community.

In faith, we explore the world of the spirit open to new truth.

In faith, we face the end of life in hope without fear.

How much can we be changed for good?

With faith, there are no limits.

Faith and Works:

You see that faith was active along with [his] works, and faith was brought to completion by the works.

You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.  For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead.  James 2: 22, 24, 26

The church is like a swimming pool.  Most of the noise comes from the shallow end.

God within me:

Several times during the day I will quietly place my hand over my heart and remember with gratitude that God dwells within me.
