New light on the Orkney Vole
A lecture on Thursday 1 May will explain the findings of new research on the Orkney Vole by Dr Keith Dobney, Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow at the Department Archaeology of Durham University, which suggests that this mammal is even more unique than previously thought and which turns the accepted view of its evolution on its head. Professor Vincent Gaffney of the HP Visual and Spatial Technology Centre of The Institute of Archaeology and Antiquity at University of Birmingham will talk on "Europe's Lost World: the Rediscovery of the Prehistoric Landscapes of the North Sea". The talk is at the King Street Halls and is open to everyone.
