Rambo's Total for Charity

KKC Member Ed "Rambo" Russell who cycled/kayaked/ran non stop from Inverness to Kirkwall has raised a massive £10,291.78 for the British Heart Foundation and Orkney Heart Support Group.  Amazing total Rambo!

While the KKC paddlers were packing up there tents at John o' Groats, Rambo arrived around 3 am having cycled overnight from Inverness and cheerfully set about his breakfast.

Five kayakers accompanied him on his paddle across the Pentland Firth and we set off from John o' Groats in the pitch dark at 4 am heading for Burwick.  There was a rough patch in the tide off Stroma where waves were coming out of the dark from every direction but Rambo, in typical style, powered through it effortlessly.

As the paddlers unpacked their kayaks and prepared to go home for a lie down, Rambo set off on his run from Burwick to Kirkwall.

This was a remarkable feat of stamina and endurance by a very determined and focussed Rambo.
