A disappointing weekend for the Kirkwall teams as Caithness failed to send their teams across for the annual Inter-League Games and, as it’s the second time Caithness has called off, this fixture could be in danger of being crossed off the calendar.
In the ‘A’ League, 10-2 seemed to be the favourite score with four of the games ending with that score.
The Legion beat the Sands 2, the Wanderers took out the Nomads, Sanday got their first points by beating St Ola, and the Commodores got a good win over the Untouchables all by 10-2. And what a point for the Legion Arrows as they held the Untouchables ‘A’ to a six all draw. No result in from the Golf Club against RBLM.
No great surprises in the Williamson’s ‘B’ League. Top score was the 8–4 win for the Masonic over Tankerness. The only other winner was the Muppets, 7–5 victors over the Vikings. The other two games, between Shapinsay and the Bilco Boys and the Warriors facing Quoyburray ‘B’ ended in 6–6 draws.
So with only two games played, the Masonic are the only team with full points. The Vikings and Quoyburray are the only teams in the Williamson’s ‘B’ League with no points.
There were 180s from Jimmy Miller, Martin Peace, Ian Wilkie, Leigh Shearer, Billy Ward, Robbie Stanger, Colin Kirkpatrick, Raymie Rendall, Eddie Drever, Ross Groundwater, Ian Eunson, Robbie Norquoy and Erlend Eunson and two from Kevin Gray.
