Leagues come to an end

What a great result up in Shetland, as the Orkney boys beat the home team 11-4 — a record score in Shetland — and also four on the trot for the first time. (See other report).
Both the Williamsons Darts Leagues are now over, as the final two games were played.
The Legion overcame Quoyburray 11-1, to remain undefeated, and chalk up win number 89 since their last defeat in the league — January, 2010. It had no bearing on any positions in the Williamsons ‘B’ League, Tankerness moved up one place after an 8-4 defeat of the Sands.
180s cane from Ivan Leslie, G. Sutherland, Peter Hourston and Kevin Gray, with three from Davy Henderson.
That takes Kevin up to a new record of 54 for the season and overall to 581.
High checkouts: 100 Eddie Craigie; 103 Liam Drever; 104 Ivan Leslie; 106 Thorfinn Eunson; and 141 Liam Drever. Overall number of high checkouts 340.
Still a couple of competitions to go before the season ends, with the darts ‘do’ on May 16, in the Masonic.
Firstly, the Ladies and Gents Charity Doubles take place on Friday, May 2, in the Masonic at 7.30 p.m. It is also the weekend the team from Mintlaw will be up, and they always take part in this competition. The proceeds go to help the children from Belarus. I hear it’s the last time they will be in Orkney.
The next game is the Tattie Bogle Mixed Doubles on Friday, May 9. It’s a fun night, with fun boards and a small raffle.
There will be a committee meeting on Wednesday, April 30, in the Masonic Club, at 8 p.m.
