18 teams entered in darts league so far

There is not long left for teams who wish to join Kirkwall and District
Darts League, as entries close next Saturday, August 14, with the AGM on
Thursday, August 19 in the Royal British Legion Club, at 8pm.

All team captains are requested to attend. Names are also required for committee
duties during the season. Names to the secretary, Jim Scollay, I Sommerville
Square, Kirkwall, or on 875740. Registration books are also available from
the secretary and must be returned to him with at least four names by August
14.

At present, 18 teams have entered including five new teams which are another
Shore team, two from Skippers Bar in the Kirkwall Hotel and another two from
the Auld Motor Hoose, making three teams out of there. But nine of last
year¹s teams have still to register. They are Untouchables A, Quoyburray
B, Shapinsay, Shore, Murray Arms and the Sands. If they all enter it would
mean that Kirkwall would have three leagues of nine teams in each, but all
that has to be decided at the AGM.

The inter-county game in Shetland, which was postponed in April will now be played on
Friday, November 5. More information nearer the time.
