Three horse race in KDDL A League

The tenth week of the Kirkwall & District Darts League season passed last week and it looks very much like the 'A' league has become a three horse race between holders Legion, Commodores and Sanday.
Having played a game more, the Commodores sit two points clear at the top but could only manage a draw with The Ola.
The Legion had their bye week whilst Sanday whitewashed Shapinsay to sit level with the Legion, and those two must play each other yet.
The Golf Club racked up two wins over the Nomads and Exiles, whilst the Bilco Boys caused a real upset by beating Untouchables 9-3, which could prove vital points in the Bilco's bid to avoid relegation.
The Tigers remain top of the 'B' league on maximum points, closely followed by the Legion Arrows who have played a game more.
The Arrows missed their chance to go level on points as they narrowly lost to the Muppets.
Tankerness remain an outside bet following another close call against the Vikings and drew level with the Young Loons who had their week off.
Shandy Bass caused the second shock result of the week with an 8-4 demolition of Quoyburray 'B', which saw the newly formed team lift clear of the bottom for the first time this season.
There was some consolation for Quoyburray 'B's Colin Kirkpatrick as he checked out a maximum 170 finish.  Quoyburray rounded off the week's action with a 10-2 win over Sands.
League action resumes after the festive period on Monday, January 6.
The KDDL committee wish all players and followers of our league a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
180s were scored by: Stevie Moar, Stevie Linklater, Kevin Peace, Matthew Wylie, Kenny Gunn, Kevin Sarling, Pete Mathieson, Freddie Tait, Ben Hogan (two), Brett Dickinson (two), Robbie Stanger (two), Ben Johnston (two), Erlend Lennie (two) and Gary Wilson (three).  John Thomson scored 171.
