Orkney Communities Island of Hoy Development Trust | text version | sitemap | log in

This Trust has TWO websites!

The one you are looking at now is intended to keep the island's residents up to date with what's happening on a regular basis,

If you are looking for a guide on the sights, sites and services available to you as a visitor to (or prospective resident of) Hoy and Walls, may we suggest that you visit our sister Island of Hoy website which you can find at:

What do they do on Hoy and Walls?

This website attempts to bring together as many as possible of the events and activities which take place on the islands of Hoy & Walls

Here you will find information on many of the groups who gather to pursue their particular interests be they sports, like badminton, swimming, or sailing, community

gatherings such as dancing of various styles, film-going, concerts, singing, the youth café, dog training, craft work, gardening, rambling and much, much more.

The location of the islands of Hoy and Walls may be somewhat remote but the residents are not!

Hopefully you will be able find here news, a calendar and links which will help you to keep up-to-date with this quiet hive of activity.

More formal information from bodies such as the Community Council and, naturally, the Development Trust can be found here, too.  (You will find it via the button on the left marked “Nerve Centre” and then within the dozen or more sub-folders inside the general folder marked “documents”).
