WHAT WE ARE DOING

WIND TURBINE

We now have planning permission on the site at Ore Brae for the community wind turbine. The application for funding is ongoing and very time consuming as there is a lot of information that needs to be gathered and for this purpose funding has been sought to enable someone to devote more time to this project. (See advertisement in local press) We hope they will be in place by mid February.

YOUTH CAFE

The Youth Café has also received funding for a Youth Development Worker, who will not only attend youth café evenings but will motivate and inspire the young folk.

RANGER

The Ranger post has also received part funding and our new Ranger will hopefully be in place by April if the outstanding funds are awarded.

NEW WEBSITE

The island website for visitors and tourists is in the process of being constructed you can find it at www.hoyorkney.com take a look, post a comment or you can post one on this website.

TOURISM BROCHURE

The Visit Hoy brochure was very well received last year and for this year and next we have made it bigger with more information for visitors and tourists.

AGM

The Development Trust AGM is coming up in April/May we need people who are motivated and want to help their community.
