Bank of Scotland staff

This photo was taken in August 1984 in the Albert Street, Kirkwall branch not long before it was completely refurbished. The occasion (I think) was the retirement of John Dearness.

Back row L-R: George Wares, Ewen Menzies, Jack Walls, Sandy Reid, David Whaley
Middle row L-R: Evelyn Grant, Frances Kemp, Denise Budge, Shirley Rorie, Marion Whyte, Maureen Kemp, Jackie Harrison, Phyllis Harvey, Judy Nicolson, Ron Cowsell, Karen Griffiths
Front row L-R: Dot Dearness, John Dearness, Alistair Bannerman
03 March 2008.

Sadly some of the people are now deceased... Alistair Bannerman died age 68 feb this year, and Jack Walls died suddenly last year.. how funny to look back all these years... George Wares, retired 31.5.96 after 40 years service, and now living in Perth, Scotland.

Missing from this wonderfull line up is my lovely wife Kathleen Burgher who I actually met in the Bank of Scotland. She worked in the Bamk until about the end of 1985 approx, prior to the birth of our first born "Dawn" who was born on the 25th of Feb 1986. Shirley Henning (Gorn) was another name that springs to mind.
