DeHavilland Dragon Rapide

Remember when planes like this regularly graced Orkney skies? You probably won't if you're much under 75 yrs old. This picture is mocked-up from a 1:72 scale (8" wingspan) model recently issued by Oxford Diecast.

Comments:
I flew into Orkney from Renfrew, Inverness & Aberdeen, (All journey's commencing from Glasgow Renfrew), on a varying selection of craft from Rapide & DC3 Dakota to Junka around 1948 to 1951, I was 11 Y.O. on my own, Grandpa was at the Quoys, Holm, waving a table cloth to me flying overhead.
