Eric Lawton, whose son Paul lives at Castles Eday, is pictured here second from the right. This photo was taken in 1943 whilst he was serving on the aircraft carrier HMS indefatigable which did it's sea trials off Orkney prior to joining the Arctic convoys. Eric is now a great, great grandfather and head of 5 generations of 'Lawton Boys'
