Here's one for Sandy. At least we know it still works. My father worked here for about 25 years and could tell by the different noises of the engines if the load was going up or down even in that racket. No ear defenders in these days. Eh what did you say?

Heck Willie! I was having a good day until I saw this. I lived beside this when I stayed in the old Kirkwall & St Ola Community Centre - where the fire station is now. After a while we never heard it. There were no unsightly stacks and tanks behind it in those days. I wonder if it passes muster for Co2 emissions?
