Tiling technique

23/4/12.
A strange way to tile a roof, and an awful lot of work if they've all to be shifted again.

I can see some logic in this. Would a tradesperson care to comment on this?

It is to stop snow slipping off the roof!

Aren't we seeing unfinished work? Presumably the tilers, having stacked the tiles on the roof for convenience, now fix them on, starting at the bottom row and working their way up, overlapping them in the usual way as they go. But perhaps someone who knows can enlighten us.

You are quite right Paul, that is the procedure used. The tiles are spread out across the roof so as they are at the tilers hand as he moves along the scaffold.
