Stromness Pipe Organ
The Pipe organ, built in 1906 by James Jepson Binns of the Bramley works in Leeds, the organ is currently maintained by Henry Willis & sons.

Yes, this is the organ in Stromness Parish Church.
I remember being coerced into doing my O-grade music performance on this organ by Jean Leonard (who, unbeknownst to me, had decided this so that she had somebody to cover the services for her during the Easter holidays and she was south). As part of the exam involved answering questions from the examiner about your chosen instrument, I got a brief history of the church organ from David Drinkell who was still teaching here at the time (1987, I think) and was a real aficionado. He wasn't exactly complimentary about our organ... 'built by Battleship Binns' was the phrase that he used, as I remember, and I must concede that it lacks the finesse that some kirk organs have!
Ah well, it has served the congregations of Stromness Kirk for over 100 years.
