Further to Jimmy Hamiltons picture #17246, I came across this picture dated 1906, the year the shed was built. Inside the shed is the 'Anne Miles' the first lifeboat to be launched from this shed.

I also have a postcard of this photo - perhaps they were issued to commemorate the opening of the shed. It belonged to my grandfather Benjamin Smith from Hurliness who came to Australia that same year.
