A Masonic outing stopped opposite Standing Stones Hotel, Stenness.

Comments:
The driver of the car is my late grandfather David T Tullock . He still had the driving gloves shown in the photo in 1966 and gave them to me when I started driving motor bikes.

A picture of the front car and its occupants obviously taken on the same occasion is on page 27 of Howard Hazell's "Orcadian Book of the 20th Century" and stated to be courtesy of David Tullock. Perhaps David can name the occupants? I think the man in the top hat is William B. Baikie, sometime Provost of Kirkwall, and leaning out the window is John Sclater the draper. Presumably picture #2563 shows the same event.
