Jack, any idea what the occasion was? Seems strange that they're all in different uniforms (or bits of, which along with the medals suggests they're retired) but carrying rifles (which suggests they're not). Are they TA wearing former uniforms for the opening of the memorial (I forget when it was opened).

Karl. the occasion was the unveiling of the Kitchener Memorial. My grandfather J G Shearer is wearing his sergeants uniform from his cavalry regiment from WW1. I presume the others also served in various units in WW1
