Gerald Turnbull is my brother who now lives in Lowestoft. He became a merchant seaman, eventually earning his Masters Certificate. He lives with his wife. He has 5 grown up children and many grandchildren. My father Gerard Francis Turnbull was a teacher in Orkney for many years. He taught in Egilsay, Hoy and Evie.

Brian Gray, this is the pic that I saw your mum Rita in, I didn't realise it was the one you emailed to me.... Its Kirkwall Grammar School, explains why I hardly knew anyone. I knew your Mum at North Walls school on Hoy....

Jimmy Hamilton - Do you know which house my Mum (Rita Stephen) lived on at Hoy? Not sure if the house was Millbay West or Rock of Cleavy/Cleary?? I've seen Millbay West on an old map so that sounds most likely. Going to try and visit Hoy next year.

Sadly, many of the pupils in this photo have passed away: Sheila Walker, Andy Sinclair, John Leslie, Betty Sutherland, Rita Stephen, Mabel Mowat and David Gorn.
