Marine Micro-plastics Talk
22 February 2019
Starts: 19:30
Ends: 21:30

We are all aware of large pieces of marine litter washing up on beaches, but Dr Angela Capper from Heriot-Watt ICIT is researching tiny, tiny particles of plastic in Orkney waters. These micro-plastics (fibres, fragments and nurdles) are ingested by marine creatures including crustaceans and farmed fish, and pose a new threat to rich native biodiversity.
