u3a Photo Group One - April 2024

by Tim Wright - 14:43 on 04 April 2024

Ten hardy souls braved the biting wind at the Palace in Birsay today .It was dry but cloudy but for those that stayed the longest the sun came out and boosted the spirits and the photographs .

The village has quite a lot of quirky items in it from Oor Wullie in green to White Rabbits protecting the Hens and maybe looking for Alice .A walk along the shore to the burn had a gang of Swans feeding hard .The Burn was flowing strongly good for close ups .

Daffodils where out everywhere and a nice set were in front of the stone bridge . Finally the sun came out on the Palace depicting the stonework in all its glory . Tea and cakes from the shop heated us back up again and it was off to the Brough Car Park .The sea was spectacular in the sun with strong blues and whites .Then homewards passing some lovely black Lambs with white muzzle flashes . A better day than expected in the end but roll on the real spring heat .

The next meeting will be on Wednesday 1st May hopefully either at Binsgarth Woods or Happy Valley if it has been dry by then .More later as to the venue .

5 photos to me from today and for  the "Shadows " project 5 to David by April 29th .

In the meantime keep clicking, Tim.
