Music Appreciation Group

The last meeting was on thursday-8th Jan. when our theme was "places".
We came up with a very eclectic mix from all over the world-though it is a challenge as we can only play short pieces to allow all to contribute-
So we travelled to Lerwick Bay,the Blue Danube,Sorrento and Grenada,the New World,and Georgia.
Followed by China(Naxi music),Turkey,and Norway.
After a coffee break we continued with Music from Eigg,Bluebeards Castle,the Grand Coolie Dam,Somewhere!,Sense of the Divine,Norwich,and Kirkwall Bay-to name a few-
It is always a learning experience-Music not known to us-ditto instruments and differing interpretations-
Our next meeting is in Orphir-2nd of Feb -10-30-when we will do "places" again ,as some of us had additional contributions-
