Botanical Group-Flotta

by Unknown - 21:39 on 05 July 2012

On 21st June the botanists visited the lovely Peninsula of Golta on Flotta. Despite being adjacent to the oil terminal this is a very interesting site both historically and for its natural history. Over 75 plants were identified and many photos taken of the gun emplacements, batteries and old officers mess...then a quick visit to the quirky shop and museum where ice cream was located.......two new trees for the site, plus Hay-scented buckler Fern, delightful Moonwort and Orchids at their best... Arctic Skuas, terns.....
