Conference reportby Donna Heddle - 18:55 on 16 October 2010Hello again. Here I am at the SNP conference in Perth. The place is ahoach with familiar political faces and I've attended a number of key speeches - John Swinney, who got a massive standing ovation after revealing exactly how efficient and money saving the SNP government has been, and Kenny MacAskill, who is turning into a very polished speaker and also got a standing ovation, and who noted that there are over 1000 more police on the beat since SNP came to power. Highlight of the day was an invitation to lunch from Cabinet Sec for Rural Affairs (and SNP pinup) Richard Lochhead. We met all sorts of European and Scottish politicians as we wielded the cutlery. Got my feecial photo taken too - hope I don't scare the voters with it.... Noted with interest the reduced fuel price for Orkney et almooted by Westminster. This was something the SNP lobbied for before the Westminster election - yet another good idea from the SNP swiped! Meeting Alex tomorrow and being introduced to conference.... more news as it happens. Cheerio Donna Comment from elizabeth duff at 00:17 on 26 October 2010.
