The Holm Sailing Club had a meeting on 18 June where it was decided to cancel this year's regatta along with all sailing in 2020. The Club is hosting a Lockdown Quiz Night on 31 December 2020. One way to finish the year! For more details see the club facebook page (@holmsailingclub). The next Holm Sailing Club AGM is scheduled for 23 March 2021.

All local regattas were cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19 related lockdown restrictions. Provisional dates for 2021 are listed below. These dates are dependent on lockdown restrictions.

Other News

The 2019 UK Snipe National Championships was hosted by Bala Sailing Club, Wales. Congratulations to Alan Williams and Liz Pike who won the event.

Island Games: Gibraltar hosted the 2019 Natwest International Island Games. Orkney is due to host the 2025 event. The next Island Games will be Guernsey in 2023; both the Guernsey and Orkney events have been postponed by two years due to Covid-19 travel issues.

Maitre CoQ IV sailed by Yannick Bestaven wins the 2020 Vendee Globe, finishing in 80 days 3 hrs. Apivia Voile sailed by Charlie Dalini comes in second, finishing in 80 days 6 hours.
