We have a number of craft related groups that meet at Number 25, Bridge Street. Feel free to come along. If you would like to come you can just turn up on the day.  Booking isn’t essential, but if you can give us a call on 988724 beforehand so we will have an idea of the numbers attending.

People of all ages are welcome although if you are under 16 you will need to be accompanied by an authorised adult.

Needle Felting Group

By popular demand we have started a needle felting group.

The group meets on the first Saturday of each month from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

You can explore the process of creating from fibre with a needle, whether it be pictures or 3-D models, the options are limited only by your imagination.

This group uses barbed needles so please be aware of the dangers.

Spinning Group

On the second Saturday of each month the Spinning Group meets from 10.30am until 12.30pm and an afternoon session from 1.30 until 3.30pm. Come along for half the day or the whole day, whichever suits you.

If you have never tried spinning before, have some basic skills that you want to develop or just want to come along for the blether you are welcome.

The cost is £3 for a half day, or £5 for the whole day, and and covers all the materials. We have several different wheels for you to try and we will happily work with you if you have a wheel at home that requires a little TLC.

Knit n Natter Group

On the third Saturday of each month the Knit n Natter Group meets at the Art Shop from 10.30am until 12.30pm.

If you have never picked up your knitting needles, have some basic skills that you want to develop or just want to come along for the blether you are welcome.

The cost is just £2, including refreshments.

Portrait Group

On the fourth Saturday of each month the Portrait Group allows people who want to have a chance to draw faces to meet at 10.30am and finishes 12.30pm.

Meeting as a group encourages us to 'have a go' at portraits. Several of us haven't tried drawing portraits before and we learn a lot about techniques and 'different ways of seeing' from each other.

The cost is £2  to allow you to drop in for as long as you can spare.

For those who wish to take figure drawing further the Life Drawing Group meets at Holm Community Hall in St Mary's on the second Saturday of the month. For more information call Lesley on 873374.

Patchwork Group

Welcome to the newest of our groups, Hand crafted Patchwork. Under the careful eye of Violet you will discover this traditional craft, learning the skills to create your own distinctive patterns that can be used in a myriad of ways.

There will be a small charge of £3 per session which includes a cuppa.

Bring along a basic sewing kit of thread, needles, scissors and pins, if you have one. Also bring along any cotton fabric that you may have in your stash, although we will provide started materials for you to use.

This group will usually meet on the last Saturday of the month, but check the calendar for any last minute changes, or ring the shop on 988724.
