Welcome to Orkney Zerowaste!

Orkney Zerowaste is a local Scottish registered charity working in the community to raise waste awareness and offer practical recycling advice in Orkney. We also run SteptOZe Yard a community re-use/recycling site, in Stromness where if we can we try to be a 'one stop drop' helping our community by offering recycling solutions whenever we can!

SteptOZe Yard is currently open 4 days a week - Mon, Wed, Fri and Saturdays 10-2pm our available goods are here and on our Facebook page for regular updates from us, please like us! A huge part of our work in Orkney is to offer local waste awareness education through a series of events and workshops throughout the county in the community or in schools/groups.

We have excellent volunteering opportunities in Orkney and are registed with Voluntary Action Orkney.

If you want to become a volunteer with us, or like us to come and visit or talk to your group please contact our Orkney volunteer co-ordinator or our recycling site manager.
Through local our local education programme, we also highlight the national themes with Zero Waste Scotland which we enthusiastically deliver throughout Orkney and the Isles.

Our mission is to encourage local innovation in reusing and recycling waste, and are always looking for new, local solutions for specific local waste problems. If we can help you, please let us know here.
