Welcome to Orkney Womens Football Club’s homepage!

Feel free to have a look around and get in touch if you have any questions. You'll find contact numbers if you click on members in the menu.

The Club was formed in 2006, and in 2007 we became associate members of Scottish Women’s Football for a year.

The annual Orkney v Shetland Women's Intercounty Football took place on Saturday 22 August 2009 in Shetland.  The girls did incredibly well with the score being 1 - 1 at half-time, 5 - 1 to Shetland at full-time.  You can find a report by clicking on BLOG.

This year's annual Robertson's Fives Indoor Competition took place on Saturday 14 November at  the KGS.  This year as usual, we had a contingent of ladies come down from Shetland to join in the fun!  You can read the report in the BLOG section.  Photos will appear when they can be tracked down.

You'll find a report of last year's Robertson's Fives Indoor Competition and photos by clicking on BLOG.

Training Sessions

At the moment, outdoor training has now finished for the season.  We are looking into holding indoor sessions in the near future.  More details to follow later.

Games.....we don't just train!!

Since the Club was formed we have played various games.  These include Aberdeen Ladies FC (2nd round of the Scottish Women's Cup) and friendlies against Glasgow Uni Women, Stromness Academy Girls, Orphir men, Hotspurs U18, Thorfinn U15, Firth men, Mintlaw Academy Girls, Kirkwall Utd.
We also have an in-Club match twice a year between the Mainland lasses and the Isles girls which is always good for a laugh!

Other Bits

OWFC had a week long stint in the Blue Door in May 2009, where we managed to raise a fantastic £1864.37!  Thanks go to Mrs Jamieson, Margaret Wishart and all the volunteers at the shop.  Thanks must also go to all our players, their families and friends for giving up their time to help and for all the donations that we received from everyone.  It was very much appreciated.

We are also looking for a new coach/coaches.  If you are interested in becoming our new coach then please let our chairperson Amy Graham know on 0773 1856 292.

Happy reading and remember to come back again as the site is always being updated!
