Changes agreed at OYDG AGM

OYDG held their AGM at Picky last Wednesday night with Stephen Crawford being re-elected Chairman for a further year. Looking back over the previous 12 months highlights included the record number of children participating in the Primary Indoor Football competitions, however amongst the older age groups a dip in schools rolls had fed through and was effecting the Under 15’s with only 4 teams participating in last year’s leagues. In order to stop the number of Under 15 teams falling even further the AGM voted to allow teams to play 4 overage players in the league this summer as long as these players are not involved in senior football. It was also agreed that the Hourston’s Indoor 4’s competition for older players be restricted to S3 and S4 players only. Addressing the meeting Stephen paid particular thanks to all the local referees who give their time free to all the local youth football competitions. He also made a plea to local coaches to take advantage of coach education opportunities when these are provided locally by the SFA.  Finally it was announced that 2015 would see the introduction of Fun 4’s Festivals in May and June for Under 7 and Under 9 players, and a consultation exercise will also be undertaken on the future structure of primary schools football.
