OF THE ORKNEY YOUTH
DEVELOPMENT GROUP (OYDG)
Formed in 2002 the Orkney Youth Development Group is responsible for all youth football in Orkney. An associate member of the Scottish Youth Football Association (SYFA) the OYDG organises all the leagues (indoor and outdoor) for the Under 16s down to primary age as well as all the county squads from Under 11s up to Under 16s.
The County set up has allowed many Orkney boys to travel extensively to play competitive football matches with destinations including Shetland, Caithness, Aberdeen, Fife, Perth, Inverness, Dingwall, Edinburgh and foreign trips to Norway and the Faroe Isles.
