Orkney Voices writing group, authors of Gousters, Glims & Veerie-orums, have recorded a series of videos with members reading their nature-themed work. These will be shared on the Orkney Nature Festival Facebook page in the lead up to, and during, the festival.

Peedie Pals is running a free children's nature scavenger hunt & photo competition for the Orkney Nature Festival. To enter, simply download or screenshot the form, find & photograph the 10 things on it, then send in the photos to the Peedie Pals Facebook or Instagram page along with your child's name and age. Everyone who takes part will receive a free Pebble Puffin certificate & there are also small prizes for the best photos sent in from each age category: Under 7, 7-9 yrs, 10-12 yrs & 13-16 yrs.

Amy discusses growing up in the islands, her love of nature and the two books that have brought her success as a writer. Amy also talks about her time working for the RSPB as Corncrake Officer in Orkney and the film that is currently in production of her debut book, The Outrun.

RSPB Scotland presents an exclusive one hour zoom chat with Ann Cleeves for Orkney Nature Festival. Ann is one of the UK's best-loved authors, with several successful series including Shetland and Vera.

In this pre-recorded event, Ann discusses her experience of nature, from childhood, via time spent in Fair Isle, to present day. She also gives a unique insight into her very first series of novels, featuring George Molly Palmer-Jones, a birdwatching private eye, and his wife, Molly. Ann speaks about her husband Tim's work as an RSPB officer and reads extracts from two of her novels.
