Orkney Arts Forum – Call for Expressions of Interest

Orkney Arts Forum is a group who represent different art forms and organisations from across Orkney. The group meet quarterly to discuss Orkney’s arts and culture and advise the councils Arts, Museums and Heritage Service. During the next 12 months the forum will play an important role in helping to shape a new Arts Development Strategy for Orkney.

We are seeking expressions of interest from motivated individuals with a passion for arts and culture and where possible a specialist knowledge of art forms including; Architecture, Digital Media, Music, Craft, Storytelling and Dance. In addition we are also looking for a young person’s representative to join the forum for the first time and represent the next generation of artists in Orkney.

The role of the forum is:

  • to support the strategic development of the arts in Orkney
  • to raise awareness of the benefits of arts and culture
  • to advocate for increased activity and resources in Orkney
  • to act as the advisory and consultation body for Orkney Islands Council’s Arts Development service

If you are interested please contact Antony Mottershead, Arts Officer who can provide you with further information. You will then be asked to submit a simple expression of interest to the forum outlining your interest and suitability.
