Welcome to the website of the Orkney Public Partnership Forum
PPF’s are a link between local health and care providers and the public.
They are made up of individual members of the public, patients and carers and existing community and voluntary groups.
Our PPF is part of Orkney Heath and Care's governance structure. It is led by members of the public and has a duty to be an "independent voice" representing the views of the whole community. We need the support of as many members of the public and organisations as possible so that we can make sure the community voice is heard.
Our role is to:
•allow OHAC to inform local people about health and care services
• be a place where OHAC can engage people in discussion about how to improve health and care services
• support wider public involvement in planning and decision making
PPF meetings are open to everyone, but this is not the only way that you can get involved. If you register as a member of the PPF you will have the opportunity to hear more about service changes and to be more involved in consultations. You can be involved as much or as little as you wish.
So why should you join?
Have you or your family or friends ever used Orkney’s health services?
Have you or your family or friends ever used Orkney’s care services?
If you have answered “yes” to either of those questions – and there can’t be many of us who didn’t – and you care about helping to make those services as good as they can possibly be, then you should join the PPF. You will find a registration form in the library section.
