What is ADP?

Orkney ADP is a multi agency partnership incorporating over 30 organisations including NHS Orkney, Orkney Islands Council, Northern Constabulary and the Voluntary Sector.
The partnership is overseen by a support team of the ADP Co-ordinator and the Substance Misuse Development Officer (see below who’s contacts are included on this page) who ensure that all members are able to contribute towards various aspects of substance misuse in Orkney which include the three key concepts indicated in the
ADP Strategy ; Education and Prevention, Supporting People in Orkney Affected by Substance Misuse and finally Treatment and Recovery.

Orkney ADP work towards a mission of
“We are committed to promoting positive change by addressing all aspects of substance misuse within Orkney.  Through effective and efficient Partnership working, we will empower and support individuals, families and communities to move towards a safe and healthy lifestyle, free from the negative impacts of substance misuse” (ADP Strategy 2009-12).

A more detailed account of the local work taking place in Orkney around substance misuse can be accessed through the annual Local Action Plan which can be found by clicking on the link provided.
