The Orkney Local Social Economy Partnership (LSEP) initiated in late 2005 describes its agreed role as:

To encourage and support social enterprises and so increase the range and increase the capacity of organisations available to deliver identified local services in Orkney.

It also notes its remit to be:- 

• To identify and monitor the nature and size of the social economy sector;

• To identify where social economy organisations can enhance service delivery;

• To ensure that support for social economy organisations is accessible and meets need;

• To facilitate co-ordination and co-operation between support providers.

The partners in the Orkney Local Social Economy Partnership are:-

HIE Orkney,

Orkney Islands Council,

Communities Scotland,

Voluntary Action Orkney.
