Longhope Sailing Club held their annual Regatta on Saturday 5 July 2008

A great turn out with 28 boats registering for the Regatta, 11 of which were local boats.

The day started out overcast with light easterly winds, but it brightening up later to give an enjoyable days sailing. Competing for the first time in the Longhope Regatta was Ben Wilcox a member of the Scottish Sailing squad.

On behalf of Longhope Sailing Club I would like to thank everyone who helped in any way, on or before the event. Either by giving their time, services, donations, raffle prizes or support, and of course the sailors for taking part.

Judith Robertsons efforts have paid off!
The Orkney Research Centre for Archaeology (ORCA) headed by Dan Lee, projects Archaeologist, have started to uncover what they now believe to be a Neolithic Tomb at Cantick Head.
