Parish Cup Semi Final, 1st Leg
Holm played host to Stromness, on Sunday 10 July, in what turned out to be a very close game. Both teams had numerous chances at goal, however it was Holm, who was victorious in the first leg. James Henry brought down Stromness player,Ryan McFerran, in the box which resulted in a penalty, 1 - 0 to Stromness. Graeme Horne equalised later when a Stromness player down in their own box, made for a very clumsy defence, let the screamer fly in. Some good passing and movement with the ball allowed Holm to go 2 - 1 up in the second half with a goal from Matthew Finn. Later in the second half, both teams were starting to tire, but it was Holm who took the advantage with another goal. This time it was young Scott Rendall, who found himself clear of the defence, and 1 on 1 with the keeper, 3 - 1. In the last 20 minutes ofthe game, a tired Holm defence, allowed a simple Stromness goal. Making the final Score 3 - 2 to Holm.
Special mention has to go to Paul Shearer. Paul played a great game, making many chances happen, and being at times inches of getting a goal himself.
Holm have overcome South Ronaldsay and Evie, to make it into the Semi Final. Now they have one more win to make it to the Parish Cup Final.
