For Arts Sake supports the community in a number of different ways

The Art Shop.

The Art Shop is is on the first floor at Voluntary Action Orkney (VAO) at 6 Bridge Street, Kirkwall, very near to the Harbour.

As you come in look for these yellow signs that will take you up the stairs beyond the Age Concern desk. A stairlift is available if you find the stairs difficult to manage.

We are open Monday to Friday 10am – 4pm

and Saturday 10am – 2pm.

The art shop stocks a wide range of artists materials and we are happy to source special orders and requests.

Activity sessions for all the community

Taster Sessions , Portrait Group,  Spinning Group & Knit & Natter Group meet regularly at the Art Shop. For dates of the next sessions see the calendar of events

News and reviews of local artistic events

The  "News Update "  page on the website and the notice-board at the Art Shop allow local artists in every medium an opportunity to advertise their exhibitions and courses.

Community Gallery Space

We have now completed our project to provide gallery space for local artists to exhibit and sell their work. For details of our current exhibition see The Gallery page.
