Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland is a national organisation offering support to the bereaved through counselling and social activities.

Cruse Orkney was started in 1991 and has since grown steadily. It is run entirely by volunteers and offers a range of services to help bereaved people in Orkney.

Experiencing Loss

Everyone experiences bereavement at some stage of their life - the death of a parent, a loved one, a friend or a child.  The feelings of grief can overwhelm us at the time, but we work through them and come to terms with our loss.  Our lives will never be the same again, things have changed.

Sometimes though, the feelings, perhaps of despair or guilt or sheer loneliness, can continue to overwhelm us and we need to seek help.

How can Cruse help?

We can support you through this difficult time.  We can offer you one-to-one counselling sessions which will enable you to work through your grief.  Or it may be that you need reassurance that others have been through the same anguish and despair.  Would you like to read some reassuring stories or get some advice?
