CRUSE is a national organisation, the largest of its type in the world. It exists to offer support to the bereaved through counselling and social activities.
Orkney branch of CRUSE was started in 1991 and has since grown steadily. While subscribing to the standards and values of the parent organisation, the Orkney branch is run by volunteers from the Orkney community.
Some of the services the branch provides are listed below:
Social events:
These are friendly and welcoming gatherings, held at various venues. The dates and times of meetings may be found in the Events Calendar and are announced on Radio Orkney and advertised in 'The Orcadian'
Counselling:
CRUSE Orkney Counsellors are professionaly trained to listen and help you work through your grief. They subscribe to professional standards of confidentiality and are regularly supervised. All consultations are treated in the strictest of confidence on a 'one-to-one' basis.
