Orkney Equality Forum Survey Posted on 15 June 2012 Orkney Equality Forum is asking the Orkney public to think about the kind of Orkney we live in. Is it a fair, forward thinking, tolerant and inclusive place?
The Scottish Social Attitudes Survey (2010) looked at attitudes towards discrimination nationally. While the results made clear that most people in Scotland don’t hold discriminatory views, it showed that there are still some groups who experience intolerance. To take part in the survey, use the link below (survey expires 15 July 2012)
Frazer Campbell, Chair of the Orkney Equality Forum, said: “We are all very fortunate that Scotland is in general a welcoming and accepting society – and hospitality in Orkney is second to none. But we know that anecdotally some people do experience discrimination and isolation.
“That’s why we are running our own version of the survey here in Orkney - we hope to test the waters and see where people think understanding and fairness can be improved, from the services made available through public agencies, to wider social situations.” Posted on 15 June 2012 |
