The Orkney Community Plannign Partnership is pleased to present the Annual Report on its Single Outcome Agreement for 2010-11. This year the Partnership has taken a hard look at what the future may look like for Orkney as a result of our decreasing resources, and worked together to find a joint solution. Looking at the abilities and recent successes of the Partnership, we firmly believe that Orkney can combine public services into one Single Public Authority. This concept – recently endorsed by the Christie Commission – will allow us to make a step-change in efficiency and joint working, while ensuring that Orkney’s communities continue to receive their local services from local providers with an understanding of the needs of remote island communities.
