NEW SERVICE FOR 2012!
Posted on 17 April 2012

New Service

Advocacy Orkney has been awarded funding through the Orkney Alcohol and Drugs Partnership for the next two years. We will use the grant to provide the following activities that will benefit all the people we support, including young people and adults who find themselves affected by substance misuse;

  • Provide an advocate or volunteer advocate for people who face multiple barriers that affect their ability to work or to seek employment and increase their opportunities to engage with employment services and agencies;
  • Support people to build financial skills to deal with debt and enable them to access the benefits they are entitled to;
  • Advocate for young people who are preparing for adulthood with regard to issues that affect their aspirations for employment, training, education or having a home of their own.

This service is free. If you feel you would benefit from having an independent advocate please contact us for an informal talk about what support may be available.
